Schatz, Steve

Stephen R. Schatz, 48, died unexpectedly July 1, 2005, in Fremont, Calif.  He was born to Roert and Patsy (McGee) Schatz on April 24, 1957. He attended Rattlesnake Grade School  for either years and in 1975, graduated from Hellgate High School.

On March 31, 1979, he married a local [Fremont, CA] girl, Glinda Truett. they moved to Bellingham, Wash. where he had bought into an employee-owned plywood mill. Being young and adventurous, they moved south to Seattle, where Steve served a sheet metal apprenticeship by day and went to community college at night.

He bought a tiny house with a huge yard and being multitalented, took it upon himself to turn the wee house into a beautiful three-bedroom home.

Eventually Steve and Glinda divorced.  He left Seattle area and worked mostly in California and Alaska.

He is survived by his two sons, Patrick and “Charlie” of Seattle; his parents; brother Brian of Missoula; and his brother Jeff (Cheryl) and family (Nicholas and Jourdan) of the Clinton Area.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.  His ashes will be set free in the Puget Sounds and Seeley Lake areas at a later date.
